| Hello Everyone! I wanted to get out an initial issue of
this newsletter to let people see what it is all about. I'm going to work on recruiting members to this list. The
more people on the list, the more likely I am to work on an issue on a regular basis. So, if you know of anyone
who could benefit from or would like to get childbirth information through email, kind of like a childbirth preparation
course, please let them know about Birthing Basics News. I have the website, and I hope everyone goes and takes a look (follow the links at the bottom), but sometimes I feel like it is just sitting there in cyberspace. I wanted to create this newsletter to spread the word about empowered birth, have it coming into your inbox on a regular basis, so you can keep up to date and you don't have to remember to go check out the website for new stuff. I also wanted a place to put the interesting links and tidbits of information that I don't place on the website, or the thoughts that don't make up a whole article, but are good anyway. So I hope you will bear with me in the beginning, as I get the hang of this. I have two young children and that sometimes makes it hard to devote as much time to this venture as I would like. I promise that what does come your way will be enlightening, empowering, and will hopefully help you to attain the birth of your dreams! I welcome feedback on what you read in this newsletter and, also, on the website. Please email me and let me know what is on your mind. To get the ball rolling I have a few links to share. They are both birth stories, written by the same woman for her second and third children. I came across the first story when I was soon to be pregnant with my second child and the story impacted my choices for that birth. She just recently put the story of the third child's birth on the web and it is every bit as inspiring. And so without further ado, get your self a cup of tea (they are long) and enjoy! The birth of Grey Forest Walt and of his little brother Samuel Rune. Here is some new information about ultrasounds. Looks like the research is showing that the fetus can hear the ultrasound waves, as a high pitch as loud as a subway train. No wonder they start kicking!! http://www.mayo.edu/ultrasound/news/ For those of you who are now pregnant, or are planning to be in the future, here is an interesting website that promotes the idea of prenatal parenting. The doctor that owns this site has written a book about the importance of creating a safe, loving, and welcoming womb for your unborn child. His goal was to figure out a way to reduce premature birth, but this concept works for more than just keeping a baby full term. He promotes forging a strong bond with your child while in the womb and gives the techniques to accomplish this. http://www.prenatalparenting.com/ Once again, please feel free to send in some feedback on what you have seen here, or even something you would like to see in the newsletter. I am open to any and all ideas. Thanks and see you next issue! |
