Noah Demarest : Biography

Biography
Noah Demarest was delivered in 1976 by his father in a small Adirondack town. Noah's father William is a graduate of Cornell's School of Hotel Administration and currently works as a software developer for the food service industry. His mother Christine was foremost a mother as well as an artist who succumbed to cancer a week shy of her 52nd birthday in 2001. Both of his parent's fell victim to the magnetism of New York's Finger Lakes and this is where Noah grew up along with two older brothers and an older sister. Introduced to the game of golf by his father, Noah spent every teenage summer working and playing at a golf course in Ithaca, New York.

With interests in art and design, Noah earned his Bachelor Degree at Cornell University's School of Human Ecology in 1998. As an undergraduate student he began studying functional apparel design but finished his degree in Design and Environmental Analysis with a focus on Human Factors and ergonomics. Noah was also fortunate to successfully make the Cornell Varsity golf team, which introduced him to a handful of quality golf courses throughout the Northeast and Florida.

After graduating from Cornell Noah married his high school sweetheart Jen, who he has known since 7th grade. He successfully passed the PGA playing ability test and worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at Cornell's Robert Trent Jones Golf Course for the first year after graduating. But his career as a golf professional was abandoned as he entered the Landscape Architecture Department at Cornell in the Fall of 1999 in pursuit of a Master's degree. In addition to recreational facility design, Noah concentrated on the use of digital media in the design process as well as sustainable architecture. Concurrent with his graduate studies Noah formed Deviron, LLC, a design and visualization company, with his brother Nathan.

In 2000, Noah and Jen had a baby girl named Jaden (partially named for Olive Tjaden Hall on Cornell's Arts Quad). And in 2002 they had their second child, a baby boy named Quinlan.

In 2004, Noah began working full-time with Tallman & Demarest Architects (TDA) as an associate and Deviron LLC merged its web and multi-media services with Ithaca based Sunnywood Designs, a web development company dedicated to sustainable design and renewable energy. In addition to working on architectural projects with TDA, Noah continues to be an active member of Sunnywood's board of directors and provides occasional graphic design for the company.
